Senior Legal Advisor

Job Summary:

  • This is a senior-level legal role within our organization, requiring significant experience in litigation, contract management, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support to our businesses and manufacturing units, handling litigation, contract management, and statutory compliance.
  • Obtain and renew statutory licenses, approvals, and permissions for factories and new projects, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, agreements, notices, and replies, maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Manage litigation matters including civil, criminal, arbitration, and recovery cases, providing expert guidance and representation.
  • Liaise with external counsels, courts, and government departments for case resolution and day-to-day support to the business.
  • Support statutory and regulatory compliance across factories, including factory audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and repositories of contracts, licenses, and legal documents, with timely renewal alerts and updates.
  • Support land-related matters including acquisition, leasing, monetization, and updating land records, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • Provide assistance in brand protection, safeguarding our intellectual property and reputation.
  • Coordinate with business and finance teams to track recoveries and manage legal claims, fostering collaboration and results-driven outcomes.
  • Travel to factories, project sites, and markets as required for legal and compliance-related work, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Handle local legal issues impacting factories, projects, or operations, exercising sound judgment and expertise.
  • Any other legal matters as assigned by management, embracing a culture of proactive engagement and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • LLB / LLM (LLM preferred)

Experience:

  • 4-9 years of experience in a legal role, mandatorily in the manufacturing or industrial sector, with a strong background in corporate law, litigation, land laws, and compliance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, litigation, land laws, and compliance.
  • Good understanding of contract drafting and negotiation, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional coordination.
  • Proficiency in legal MIS/documentation tools (e.g., Lexcare) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
