We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database upgrades, high availability solutions, and cloud migrations.

About the Role

The successful applicant will lead and execute database upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to latest versions. They will also design, configure, and manage high availability solutions in production environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement database migrations to the cloud with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading databases to latest versions in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high availability solutions and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
