Database Specialist Opportunity

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, protecting, and implementing databases with senior developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage database locking, process blocking, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Create high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Develop and implement backup and restoration processes to optimize testing and verification.
  • Design and develop monitoring and metrics tooling for database performance and operation.
  • Implement preventative infrastructure management to prevent future issues.
  • Provide technical support and assist peers as needed.
  • Deploy new database objects and changes to existing objects.
  • Develop complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers for application development.
  • Maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL.
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions.
  • Optimization skills for MSSQL, HA/DR support.
  • Systems and software development lifecycles, application integration techniques, relational database design.
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is a plus.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and break-down complex problems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Cloud database storage technologies experience.

Education and Certifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
