Job Title: Chief Intellectual Property Manager

Educational Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (e.g., mechanical, electronics, automotive, material science)
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.

Additional Qualification:

  • WON certification will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 18 years of experience in intellectual property law and management.

Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to manage our intellectual property portfolio. Key responsibilities include reviewing new product designs for potential IP risks, conducting freedom-to-operate searches, and collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate legal risks.

  1. To drive the company's intellectual property strategy, review designs for potential risks and initiate actions to minimize them.
  2. To perform advanced patent and competitor portfolio analysis using various tools and data analytics techniques.
  3. To work closely with the IP attorney team to close FTO opinion reports and provide recommendations for IP tests.
  4. To plan and conduct Bill of Materials (BOM) Freedom to Operate reviews at the product level across automotive technology domains.
  5. To release periodic IP alerts, addressing concerns from stakeholders and managing projects independently.
  6. To conduct Freedom to Operate searches, state-of-the-art analyses, and trigger timely protection for all forms of IP across major jurisdictions.
  7. To stay up-to-date with industry best practices and use state-of-the-art tools for IP searches, conducting searches across multiple jurisdictions.
  8. To resolve claim interpretation issues in Freedom to Operate with stakeholders and maintain confidentiality of IP matters.
