Intellectual Property Strategist

We are partnering with a global leader in Pharma to identify Sr. Manager - Intellectual Property.

The position will report to Head - IP and work on a wide variety of Intellectual Property matters within the Intellectual Property Department.

This role is not to manage files, but to turn IP into strategy, and strategy into impact.

  • Develop and manage the growing IP portfolio of the Company
  • Enforce IP processes to ensure optimal and timely protection of intellectual property as well as protecting third-party partner interests
  • Work closely with Global IP Head, Research and Development and Portfolio teams
  • Identify products (Gx and 505(b)(2)) to be introduced into the development grid
  • Devise and manage the most effective product development strategy for the portfolio
  • Provide guidance regarding patentability of inventions under review
  • Draft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual property
  • Monitor and evaluate third party scientific and patent publications
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD or Post-graduate in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Desirable to have an additional specialization in Intellectual Property
  • At least 13+ years of experience in a reputable Global Pharmaceutical company with team handling skills
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
