About the Role:
  • We seek an experienced leader to head our patent drafting and prosecution practice.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for independently drafting high-quality patent applications, preparing and reviewing responses to office actions, and ensuring all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements.
  • This role also involves managing and mentoring a small team of patent professionals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patent Drafting & Prosecution:
    • Drafting patent applications in US, EP, and India
    • Preparing and reviewing responses to office actions from the USPTO, EPO, and Indian Patent Office
    • Ensuring all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements
  • Project & Team Management:
    • Managing and guiding a team of 3-4 Sr. Associates/Associates on drafting and prosecution assignments
    • Reviewing drafts prepared by team members, providing detailed feedback to improve quality
    • Overseeing project timelines, workload distribution, and delivery commitments
  • Client Engagement:
    • Collaborating with inventors, in-house counsel, and R&D teams to capture technical inventions
    • Providing strategic advice on patentability, prosecution, and portfolio development
    • Maintaining strong client communication and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Quality & Process Development:
    • Establishing and implementing best practices for patent drafting and prosecution
    • Providing training and mentorship to team members for professional growth
    • Continuously improving processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
