Senior Data Engineer Job Description

At our organization, we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of scalable data pipelines that support real-time clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building event-driven systems and integrating healthcare data with EHR/EMR systems such as Epic.

  • Design and build robust data pipelines that process clinical encounter data, retrieve associated medical documents, and deliver validated information to machine learning systems for inference.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring vision to life and ensure downstream ML systems receive high-quality, structured data for decision support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
  • Strong background in workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, relational databases (e.g., Postgres), and SQL.
  • Proficiency in handling unstructured data, operating in cloud environments, and working with distributed systems.
  • Track record of delivering data infrastructure that supports ML or analytics applications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to drive projects independently.
