Key Role in Medical Strategy:

The General Manager of Medical Affairs is responsible for leading the medical strategy, focusing on providing robust support and facilitating collaboration between the medical and marketing teams. This role encompasses developing medical materials, training programs, and evaluating new products to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Medico-Marketing Support:
    • Provide references and data to support product positioning and new product research and development (NPD).
  • Marketing Collaboration:
    • Support the marketing team with regular inputs and strategic advice on promotional activities to ensure accurate messaging and compliance.
  • Material Preparation:
    • Prepare comprehensive product manuals, monographs, and training slides to enhance understanding and communication of product benefits.
  • CME Development:
    • Develop and prepare Continuing Medical Education (CME) slides and materials to support ongoing education initiatives.
  • Product Evaluation:
    • Evaluate new product ideas and presentations, providing insights and recommendations to the marketing and business development teams.
  • Training Sessions:
    • Conduct medical training sessions for field staff to ensure they are well-informed about products and therapeutic areas.
  • Clinical Study Participation:
    • Actively participate in clinical studies to gather relevant data and insights that inform medical affairs strategies.
  • Competitive Analysis:
    • Conduct evaluations of competitors' new products and strategies, providing analysis to inform company positioning and development efforts.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging science to provide insights that drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Advanced degree in life sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years in medical affairs or related fields, with a focus on marketing support and product evaluation.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, clinical development processes, and the therapeutic landscape.
  • Skill:
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
