Manufacturing Technology Leader

About the Role:

Our ideal candidate will lead the design configuration and deployment of SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. This includes architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions. The successful candidate will ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, develop secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols, and manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design configuration and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications
  • Architect and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems
  • Develop and maintain secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols
  • Manage industrial databases for high availability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA and MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team

Requirements:

  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms such as Azure IoT and AWS IoT
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Familiarity with containerization such as Docker and Kubernetes for SCADA and MES deployments
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation and Industry 4.0 projects
  • Certifications in Ignition, Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications
