Job Title: Performance Test Engineer

A highly experienced Performance Test Professional is required to engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services, from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years' experience in software development or performance testing and engineering with systems analysis, including using agile practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Servicing Services Before Launch

  • Supporting services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, risk assessments and launch reviews.

Maintaining Live Services

  • Maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.

Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Running continuous improvement activities that improve service availability, recovery, efficiency & performance.

Highly Available and Scalable Architectures

  • Working with the team to implement highly available and scalable architectures for core and third-party components of the service.

Metrics, Monitoring, and Incident Response

  • Implementing metrics, monitoring, and incident response processes.

Change Management and Capacity Planning

  • Aligning with/improving change management and capacity planning processes.

Automation and Stability

  • Monitoring levels of manual effort and driving improvement through automation and stability.

Proactive Service Improvement

  • Proactively improving service availability, performance & efficiency via delivery of implemented metrics, monitoring, and incident response processes, improvements in change management and capacity planning processes, and automated feature/story engineering quality measures.

Production Degradation Awareness

  • Being aware of production degradation of service level objectives.

Root Cause Analysis and Post-Mortems

  • Identifying the specific system information needed to facilitate incident response / post-mortems and delivering root cause analysis.

Operational Excellence

  • Contributing as part of a Scrum team to maintain a deep understanding of system functionality and architecture, with primary focus on operational aspects of the service (availability, performance, change management, incident response, capacity planning, etc.).

Improved NPS

  • Facilitating improved NPS with customers (internal & external) and addressing specific operational needs & concerns.
