Career Area Manufacturing Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc When you join Caterpillar you re joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do but also about each other We are the makers problem solvers and future world builders who are creating stronger more sustainable communities We don t just talk about progress and innovation here we make it happen with our customers where we work and live Together we are building a better world so we can all enjoy living in it Primary responsibility is to provide support for Quality initiatives in supplier quality facility operations The Position will ensure conformity to global quality processes defined in the Caterpillar Quality Management System QMS within the assigned work area by providing expertise feedback on supplier parts inspection Job Duties The incumbent will assure parts supplied by suppliers meets the Caterpillar specifications Planning the supplier parts inspection and sampling plan strategy Maintain and publish defect reports that are recorded and reported at Incoming Quality level The incumbent will inspect the quality of supplier components Machined Castings fabrication Tubes etc Ensure defect free components are issued to production by carrying out sorting minor defect rework and flag major defects Develop and Update inspection plan based on specification Conduct MRC review meeting and disposition of NC parts Support parts development through sample and PPAP lot inspection disposition Perform root cause analysis to investigate quality issues and reporting You will follow lean manufacturing continuous improvement waste elimination and standard work to problem solve and complete job tasks The incumbent is accountable for conformity to global quality processes and reporting to management on QMS process execution The role is responsible for setting priorities establishing review schedules for product and equipment quality control and managing Incoming Quality Audit area with good knowledge of GD T CMM Ensure Emergency response Interim containment Action Plans for Incoming Part nonconformance and protect the production schedule Work with cross Functional team encompassing Supplier Quality Product Engineering Packaging team Logistic team for root cause analysis issue resolution Background Experience 1 A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with an excellent understanding of Quality management practices 2 Minimum 5 years of work experience in Incoming quality inspection of Machined parts Castings fabrication Tubes Hoses is desired 3 Strong Technical knowledge of Machining process of precision Steel Cast-Iron parts4 Understanding analysis of CMM inspection reports 5 Requires strong communication cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers 6 Requires quality tools knowledge and to be able to teach other on how to properly apply quality tools or techniques 7 Advanced computer applications good oral and written communications skills are a must This is intended as a general guide to the job duties for this position and is intended for the purpose of establishing the specific salary grade It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as an exhaustive summary of all responsibilities duties and effort required of employees assigned to this job At the discretion of management this description may be changed at any time to address the evolving needs of the organization It is expressly not intended to be a comprehensive list of essential job functions as that term is defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act Relocation is available for this position Posting Dates May 5 2025 - May 18 2025Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer EEO Not ready to apply Join our
