Automation Engineer Job Description

The role of Automation Engineer is to design and implement automated systems for machine manufacturing. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of automation technologies, including PLC programming, motion control, and robotics.

This job requires the ability to analyze requirements and design solutions that meet the needs of the customer. The ideal candidate will be able to write and execute system tests, follow required test processes, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

The successful Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing tests on complete automation systems, testing motion and robotics-related function blocks in PLC code, and analyzing requirements to design PLC programs. Additionally, they will be expected to be open to learning new technologies and agile in nature.

Key Qualifications
  • B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Mechatronics / MSc Electronics, Electrical
  • 6-10 years of experience in automation engineering
Required Skills
  • PLC Programming in Ladder/Structured Text/Function blocks
  • Configuring and commissioning Servo Drives, VFDs & Inverters
  • Motion Control Programming in PLC for servo drives
  • Robotics (Drive Groups, Multi-Axes) programming in PLC
  • Design and Commissioning experience for Machine automation and turnkey projects
  • Fieldbus technologies (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet PowerLINK, CAN, PROFIBUS, ControlNET, DeviceNET)
