Steel Detailer & Procurement Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer & Procurement Specialist to support our operations. This role will focus on detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs for our projects.

About the Role:

  • Detailing and reviewing drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.
  • Preparing and organizing CNC files, bolt lists, BOM and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and coordinated with other trades.
  • Reviewing drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.
  • Creating accurate takeoffs and preparing purchase lists for materials (steel shapes, plate, pipe/tube, fasteners, weld consumables, etc.).
  • Coodinating with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Tracking material deliveries, lead times, and costs to ensure alignment with project budgets and schedules.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with U.S.-based construction or fabrication companies.
