Job Title: HVAC Design Engineer

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Engineer to perform load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems. This includes performing heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.

The selected engineer will also select and size HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on project requirements, as well as design ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.

This role requires the ability to ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes, and perform energy efficiency analysis and optimize HVAC systems for cost and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.

Key qualifications include proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20), strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles, as well as familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20).
  • Strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles.

The selected candidate will work closely with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors for system integration, prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals, and assist in tendering, cost estimation, and bid evaluations for HVAC systems.

Additionally, this role involves providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning, ensuring that HVAC systems are designed and implemented to meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
