Job Description\

Embroidery designers bring innovative fabric manipulation techniques, embroidery and textures to life. This role requires a strong sense of color, pattern and texture.

The ideal candidate will have experience in textile design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, CAD) and a solid understanding of fabric properties, weaving, knitting and printing techniques.

  1. Design Development
  • Conceptualize original fabric manipulation techniques, embroidery and textile designs, including patterns, prints, weaves and innovative materials.
  • Develop color palettes and experiment with dyeing techniques, laser techniques and mixing of other materials.
  • Create unique fabric manipulation techniques.
  • Research current trends in fashion, textiles and consumer preferences.
  1. Material Selection
  • Choose suitable fabrics and materials based on design requirements and functionality.
  • Source sustainable or innovative materials when necessary.
  1. Technical Skills
  • Utilize design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or CAD to create digital designs.
  • Understand textile production processes, including weaving, knitting, printing and dyeing.
  • Develop technical specifications for manufacturers.
  1. Collaboration
  • Work closely with fashion designers, product developers and manufacturers to ensure designs align with the overall vision.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to understand target audiences and market trends.
  1. Prototyping and Sampling
  • Develop prototypes and samples to test designs.
  • Make adjustments based on feedback and production feasibility.
  1. Quality Control
  • Ensure that final textiles meet quality standards and design specifications.
  • Address any issues during production.
  1. Sustainability and Innovation
  • Explore eco-friendly materials and sustainable production methods.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in textile design.
Required Skills and Qualifications\
  • A degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design or a related field is required.
  • Certifications in CAD or textile technology can be an added advantage.
