Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to lead our engineering team in the development of civil and structural designs for solar PV power plants.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in reviewing and executing engineering activities, including design and documentation, and will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and draughts persons to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate vendor drawings and documents to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks and deliveries align to project schedule
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements for engineering activities
  • Review BOQ and submit to contracts team, providing technical clarifications
  • Provide support and clarifications to site execution team
  • Check pre-award evaluation of vendors and forward validation document to supply chain management
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor
  • Clarify issues w.r.t. design & requirements of the client to site execution team
  • Collect inputs for project details (soil report, boundary coordinates, topo survey etc.) from client & section head
  • Coordinating with operations team and informing design specifications for obtaining approval
  • Collect inputs for project details (general arrangement drawings) from vendors
  • Provide support to electrical DC, AC & instrumentation for reviewing vendor drawings
  • Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking & reviewing of design & drawings of the project

Technical Expertise:

  • Design lead shall have technical expertise in engineering activities for civil & structural covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous works related to the solar power plant
  • Design lead shall be able to review vendor engineering documents with respect to civil & structural design
  • The design lead (civil / structural) is required to understand and interpret the contractual technical requirements and facilitate the project teams as and when required
