Job Title: National Mass Distribution Lead

Job Description:

  • Oversee the strategy and implementation of mass distribution for national expansion, collaborating with sales leadership.
  • Drive growth in gross and net acquisition targets for the mass distribution channel.
  • Promote market leadership by increasing revenue and market share while ensuring alignment with agreed quality standards and corporate policies.
  • Develop a robust distribution strategy to achieve trade advocacy, sustainable reach, coverage, and geographical footprint.
  • Establish mechanisms for gathering competition-based insights to protect existing share and increase subscribers and revenue.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Strategic:

  • Contribute to the overall sales strategy for the nation, focusing on profitability of the mass distribution channel.
  • Set targets for the mass distribution channel, encompassing both business and distribution KPIs (Gross, GAS, Distribution UAO, DURO, Revenue etc). Deliver sales targets for all products (quality prepaid gross and revenue targets, UL penetration, acquisition market share etc) through ongoing monitoring and reviews of the mass distribution channel.
  • Develop a channel expansion plan by evaluating distribution coverage, penetration, and performance.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to plan new product launches in the mass distribution channel.

Operational:

  • Meet circle revenue targets for the mass distribution channel for all products across brands.
  • Expand the distribution network by appointing and monitoring partners in new and existing areas.
  • Provide input to sales leadership in deciding COCA/incentive plans for channel partners and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Implement national initiatives at the circle level.
  • Plan and monitor SIP targets alongside SEM teams.

Developmental:

  • Identify development areas and recommend training programs/interventions for mass distribution manpower.
  • Collaborate with SEM teams to develop training programs for internal sales teams and distributors for new products and initiatives.
  • Assist SEM teams in identifying underperforming team members and provide guidance and mentorship as needed.
  • Share best practices within the circle and with other circles.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in distribution, preferably in telecom, FMCG, or mass retail distribution.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-geography teams and bringing in best practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing distribution strategies and managing large-scale distribution networks.
  • Ability to lead complex channels with numerous partners.
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, and influencing skills, along with effective relationship management.
  • Independent thought leadership and drive to execute strategic initiatives.
