
Technical Compliance Specialist

The role of an Assistant Engineering Manager involves coordinating the planning and execution of certification and compliance activities for various regulatory bodies such as DGCA, CEMILAC, FAA, EASA, Green & Blue UAS, and third-party laboratory tests.
Assisting in studying and implementing national and international regulations related to certification and compliance requirements of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in both civil and defense sectors is a critical aspect of this role.
Close collaboration with product management, V&V, E&E, SW, Design and Development, Prototype, production, Certification bodies, DGCA, QCI, BIS, DFI, AUVSI, CEMILAC, and external test laboratories is required for effective execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to obtain a thorough understanding of products and their testing requirements.
- Generate requirement proposals and execution plans along with budgetary and timeline requirements.
- Study and understand tender documents, scheme documents, compliance standards, and drone rules to generate test requirements proposals and obtain agreements with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure correct Type Certificate documentation, tests executions, TC audits, and cooperation with Certification Bodies for expeditious releases of System-on-Chip (SoCs).
- Collaborate effectively with external stakeholders like Certification Bodies / Authorized Test Establishments (ATE), DGCA, and QCI to educate them about product environments and compliances.
- Communicate and collaborate with Certification Bodies, DGCA, QCI, CEMILAC, DFI, BIS, etc. to ensure timely study of regulatory drafts and feedbacks in the interest of IdeaForge.
- Prepare presentations and compliance roadmaps based on analysis of international regulations.
- Develop and maintain a certification roadmap in cooperation with product management and adhere strictly to its execution.
- Plan and execute periodic internal audits to identify and analyze compliance risks and implement mitigation measures with respective departments.
- Oversee budgetary planning for all departmental activities.
- Manage teams, Key Result Areas (KRAs), and appraisals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10-15 years of experience in technical compliance, with a minimum of 5 years in the UAS industry.
- Exceptional understanding and hands-on experience working with regulatory frameworks – national and international.
- Proven experience in product testing, process analysis, and certification activities.
