Customer Experience Director Job Summary

The Customer Experience Director role is a strategic leadership position that drives the development and execution of the product roadmap for our customer experience platforms. This senior-level director will be responsible for overseeing a team of product managers, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to ensure our offering has the necessary features to win in the market.

Key areas of impact include:

  • Customer Retention Strategy: Develop incremental features and roadmaps to retain existing customers and drive renewals and license revenue.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Understand key market trends and competitive insights to ideate and implement major breakthrough features.
  • Product Development Roadmap: Create a roadmap that blends existing strengths with new features, optimizing costs while differentiating the offering in the market.
  • Execution and Collaboration: Deliver the roadmap with prioritization and precision, working closely with sales, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Evangelize new feature functions and product versions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyst Ratings Improvement: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to deliver significant positive movement in key analyst ratings.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and align efforts of the PM team to deliver effective releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Brand Differentiation: Help establish our company as a top brand for customer experience platforms by engaging with customers, partners, analysts, and influencers.
  • Strategic Clarity: Drive strategic clarity for CX product differentiation through an outside-in analysis of market, competitive, customer, and technological forces.
  • Release Roadmap Management: Create well-defined major release roadmaps with WOWs, working with CX Solutions stakeholders.
  • Product Quality Assurance: Ensure that the right features get built in a timely manner, with excellent product quality, ease of upgrading and adoption, and stickiness.
  • Launch Readiness Preparation: Work with Marketing to create an impactful market message, rationalize pricing and packaging, and work with influencers to get favorable mentions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Support, and Services teams to ensure customer success.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with diplomacy and tact.
  • Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of similar customer experience platforms such as Pega, Adobe Marketing, Salesforce Marketing, Hubspot, and Aha.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the customer experience industry.
