Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale database systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, including experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-performance database systems
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting and Ansible for deployment, monitoring, and configuration management
  • Administer and monitor Apache Kafka clusters, including topic management, performance tuning, and security
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize data pipelines and ensure data integrity across platforms
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all data platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the data stack in a timely manner
  • Create and maintain database access systems including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Administer database replication between servers, across Local Area Network and Wide Area Network
  • Tune and optimize database objects

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  2. Fluency in English is required
  3. Experience with Big Data Technologies supporting a broad variety of solutions including HDFS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elastic, SQL Server
