Job Title: Plant Human Resources Manager

The role of the HR manager in a manufacturing setting is vital to ensuring smooth operations, employee satisfaction, and overall business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of administrative functions including security, transportation, housekeeping, and gardening through professional vendors, adhering to legal compliance requirements.
  • Partnership with HR & ER teams at the plant level.
  • Payroll management for employees, retainers, team leaders, and contract workers.
  • Leadership in training and development activities, including conducting annual training needs assessments, creating, and executing training plans.
  • Management of HR operations and transactions for the plant.
  • Ensuring timely compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversight of manpower planning and budgeting processes.
  • Management of union relations, including collective bargaining for long-term wage agreements, monthly meetings, and grievance handling.
  • Liaison with external stakeholders such as government authorities and external union leaders.
  • Addressing discipline issues, such as chronic absenteeism and employee misconduct.
  • Coordination of employee welfare activities, including uniform provision and canteen services.
  • Initiation of health and safety initiatives at the plant.
  • Management of legal cases, collaboration with advocates, and leading cases to successful resolution.
  • Administration of contract labor management, including order preparation, attendance verification, bill processing, and salary disbursement.
  • Oversight of security management, daily gate report verification, records checks, and addressing disciplinary actions from security frisking.
  • Coordination of head office HR initiatives, including recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement activities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possession of post-graduation education in Human Resources, Personnel Management, and Industrial Relations (MSW or MBA in HR).
  • A minimum of 10 to 12 years' experience in HR & IR field.
  • Knowledge of local language to read, write, and speak.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Background from reputable organizations such as textile companies, engineering firms, and FMCG companies.
  • Familiarity with Labor Laws and Compliance.

Desirable skills include analytical and problem-solving abilities, assertiveness, decision-making capacity, interpersonal skills for subordinate and peer interactions, and communicating with stakeholders on HR/IR matters.
