Shipping Operations Manager Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead shipping operations on a fixed-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong logistical expertise, particularly in container maintenance and repairs, with the ability to drive operational efficiency, manage stakeholder relationships, and inspire high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage vendor and local operating center (LOC) queries, ensuring prompt resolution and high stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Foster strong relationships with LOCs through effective customer engagement.
  • Lead and mentor the team, facilitating skill development and performance enhancement.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Analyze end-to-end processes to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
  • Implement process control measures and ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for new team members to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake ad hoc responsibilities as required.

Position Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes in the shipping and logistics industry.
  • Hands-on experience in handling dry and reefer container maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights and present findings clearly.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Fixed Term (6 Months).
