Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBA to join our expanding IT team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing production databases, deploying SQL Server replication, mirroring, and high availability across hybrid environments. They will also be responsible for designing and implementing new installations on Azure, AWS, and cloud hosting with no specific DB services.

The successful candidate will have experience with database security and protection against SQL injection, exploiting intellectual property, etc. They will also assist with data storage and query design/optimization where required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • SQL Server management on Hybrid environments (on premise and cloud)
  • MySQL Backup, SQL Server Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/Windows
  • Setting up, management, and maintenance of SQL Server/MySQL on Linux
  • Experience with database usage and management
  • Implementation of Azure Hyperscale database
  • Familiarity with multi-tier, object-oriented, secure application design architecture
  • Cloud environment experience preferably Microsoft Azure on Database service tiers
  • PCI DSS experience a plus
  • SQL development experience a plus
  • LINUX experience a plus
  • Proficiency in using issue tracking tools like Jira, etc.
  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git, SVN etc.
Benefits

The DBA will work closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of all database-related activities. They will participate in the design and implementation of essential applications, demonstrating expertise throughout the development lifecycle.

Others

The DBA will stay up-to-date on all current best practices, trends, and industry developments. They will review current systems, suggesting updates as required, and gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, they will document procedures to set up and maintain a highly available SQL Server database on Azure cloud, on premise, and Hybrid environments.
