Global Purchasing Executive

This role is responsible for ensuring material availability at plants by achieving a 94% Request Date Service Level (RDSL) and inventory management as per IO guidelines to support World Area Manufacturing Sites (WAMS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and issue purchase orders to suppliers and collaborate for on-time direct shipments to WAMS.
  • Calibrate and distribute global forecasts to suppliers.
  • Publish global delivery performance to suppliers and create actions for non-performing supplier improvements.
  • Work with suppliers to improve lead times and flexibility to support WAMS demand surge and project orders.
  • Review and act on slow-moving, excess inventory.
  • Evaluate and determine the best shipment mode for WAMS to optimize logistics costs.
  • Coordinate global contracts, agreements, and terms/conditions for WAMS purchases.
  • Maintain purchasing parameter integrity (price, lead-time, order policy, drawing revision, commodity code, etc).
  • Implement, coordinate, and maintain Advance Deviation Requests/Supplier Corrective Actions as per procedure.
  • Collaborate with global teams to set up new suppliers and maintain supplier databases as required.
  • Build and submit procurement reports (supplier delivery performance, cost savings, inventory on hand, etc.) to management and Worldwide Strategic Commodity Managers as appropriate in a timely manner.
  • Ensure purchases align with WAMS trade import/export and Internal Control Policies.
  • Support Commodity Managers on implementing commodity plans (e.g., reverse auctions, tooling tracking, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Purchasing/Procurement/Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge in Strategic Sourcing Methodology, Supply Chain Management, Contracting, Procurement, and Supplier Management skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated, good communication skills (verbal & written).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management, or any related field.
  • Qualification/experience in Six Sigma and Lean Tools would be preferred.
