Sales Development Manager Job Description

Role Overview:

The Sales Development Manager is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales growth by promoting, selling and generating leads for solar energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify potential clients through market research, networking, referrals and inbound inquiries. Generate qualified leads to maintain a pipeline of prospective business opportunities.
  • Product Knowledge & Consultation: Develop in-depth knowledge of solar products, technologies and installation processes. Educate clients on the benefits, cost savings and environmental impact of solar energy.
  • Sales & Revenue Generation: Convert leads into sales and revenue by closing deals. Negotiate terms, pricing and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with the installation and technical teams to ensure timely execution of projects. Monitor the progress of solar installations, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and submit sales reports, progress updates and client records regularly. Maintain accurate documentation of contracts, quotations and invoices.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Participate in local marketing campaigns, exhibitions and solar awareness programs. Distribute promotional materials and conduct demonstrations of solar products.
  • Candidate Requirements:
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven ability in B2B or B2C sales, lead conversion and closing deals. Negotiation skills to finalize contracts and agreements effectively.
    • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of solar panels, inverters, batteries and installation processes.
    • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess client needs and provide suitable solar solutions.
    • Organizational & Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
