Job Overview:

PETA India’s Emergency Response Team is seeking a dedicated professional to assist in handling urgent animal emergencies, rescues, and cruelty cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to emergency and general cruelty-case calls and emails.
  • Develop effective partnerships with approved animal-protection organisations, volunteers, government bodies, and officials to facilitate emergency rescues.
  • Coordinate hands-on assistance for animals in need in collaboration with senior paravets and office assistants.
  • Maintain thorough records of calls and emails received about emergencies and cruelty cases.
  • Participate in professional development training on animal handling, restraining, first aid, and other relevant lessons.
  • Represent the organisation professionally to the public, organisations, and authorities as directed by the supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
  • Voluntary or other experience handling emergency and cruelty-case responses for animals is an asset.
  • Computer proficiency, fluency in Hindi and English, and knowledge of local Indian languages are required.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including multi-tasking, excellent oral and written communication skills, and patience when dealing with animal-protection contacts are essential.
