About the Role

We are a leading renewable energy company in India, with a strong presence in the wind and solar sectors. We develop, build, operate, and maintain projects through our in-house engineering, procurement, construction, operations & maintenance teams.

Our portfolio of projects includes wind, solar, wind-solar hybrid and firm and dispatchable renewable energy including battery energy storage systems. As of May 31, we have a total portfolio of approximately 10,000 MWp spread over 48 projects across four states in India.

About the Position

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the land acquisition activities for Wind projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Project Development, you will play a crucial role in creating a land pool for under construction wind projects and to create a pipeline for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project development activities and collaborate with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks for wind projects.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, with primary focus on key states.
  • Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other related approvals.
  • Risk assess land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers and ensure clear and marketable title of the potential land before acquisition.
  • Draft and finalize agreements, ensuring seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance, to ensure successful land acquisition.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition and usage across the company's pan-India locations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 12 years of hands-on experience in land acquisition involving revenue/private/forest land exploring potential site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports for acquisition, and negotiating to acquire land.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members, cross functional teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
