Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled designer to conceptualize and develop high efficiency, high performance electric motors for electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop switched reluctance motor (SRM), synchronous reluctance motor (SynchREL), permanent magnet synchronous motor/brushless direct current motor & generator design for EV and HEV applications.
  • Electrical design of motor/generator & electromagnetic analysis using specialized software.
  • Compare different types of motors for EV & HEV applications through software allowing for quick comparisons between machine types, machine designs, pole numbers, winding topologies etc.
  • Work with engineers to develop mechanically and thermally feasible designs. Build and prove concept design under tight timing constraints.
  • Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the mechanical design of motors & good understanding of construction/manufacturing methods of electric machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of different control strategies used for PMSM, PMBLDC, SynchREL and other motors.
  • Knowledge of thermal management of motor & different cooling system designs and experience in electric vehicles & hybrid vehicles will be an added advantage.
  • Software skills: specialized design software, Matlab/SIMULINK with knowledge of SIMSCAPE , python. 3D modeling tool (UG NX preferred) experience is an added advantage.
