Job Opportunity: Senior SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SQL servers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install and configure SQL servers from version 2005 to 2022, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Patching and Maintenance: Manage patching hierarchies, maintain clarity on SQL build numbers, and ensure internal database build numbers are up-to-date.
  • Upgrades and Migrations: Upgrade and migrate SQL Server from older versions (2005) to newer versions (till 2022), ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Linked Servers and Contained Databases: Configure linked servers between same or different SQL Server versions, and set up contained databases for efficient migrations.
  • Backup and Recovery: Fine-tune backups using encryption, compression, and special parameters like MAXTRANSFERSIZE, BUFFERCOUNT, BLOCKSIZE, and CHECKSUM.
  • CORRECTIVE ACTION ON DATABASE CORRUPTIONS: Handle Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions with expertise.
  • HADR Configurations: Configure HADR configurations like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG, and Replication.
  • Windows Cluster and Quorum Management: Possess hands-on knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator, and commands.
  • Advanced Cluster Parameters: Understand advanced cluster parameters like Failure Condition Level, Health check timeouts, and patching clustered instances from SQL 2005 to 2022.
  • Always-On Availability Groups: Configure Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in Synchronous mode and Asynchronous mode.
  • Advanced AG Scenarios: Handle advanced Always-On AG scenarios like Failover, adding new data/log files, Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, and Failure Condition Level parameters, configuring Read-Only Routing, listeners, and backup configurations.
