Database Operations Specialist

Description:

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in database administration, including experience with SQL Server and its various versions. They should have a solid understanding of scripting languages such as Perl and PowerShell, as well as experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS and Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of SQL Servers
  • Apply patches or service packs for SQL Server
  • Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions
  • Setup automated alerts for team notifications
  • Work on incidents, change tickets and problem tickets
  • Setup Maintenance plans for Backups, Database integrity check, Rebuild index, Update statistics
  • Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts
  • Collaborate with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands
  • Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production
  • Provide ongoing support for high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases
  • Perform performance tuning, including creating missing indexes

Requirements:

  • 6-12 years of experience in database administration
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and its versions
  • Experience in scripting using perl, power shell
  • Experience in AWS/Azure
