Job Title: Data Platform Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Specialist to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in database management systems, including SQL Server upgrades, high availability solutions, and cloud migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute large-scale database migration projects, including upgrading from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • Design, configure, and manage high availability clusters (HA/DR) in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a database administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high availability solutions and other disaster recovery options.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration tools (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
