Procurement Specialist - Inventory Optimization

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to lead our inventory optimization efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing procurement trends, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze procurement data to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to optimize inventory levels.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and services.
  • Implement and maintain group-wide price agreements for high-value and critical medical supplies.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure performance, delivery, and compliance in procurement operations.
  • Oversee the smooth implementation and operation of procurement systems across all units.
  • Ensure timely receipt of agreed credit notes and Trade Offer Discounts (TODs) from vendors.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to procurement for all units.
  • Track and reconcile procurement stock across all units to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of supplier recommendations based on clinical, financial, and operational inputs.
  • Monitor compliance with supplier recommendations and measure resultant cost savings.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory guidelines to prevent any legal or regulatory non-compliances.
  • Proactively address and prevent audit observations and risks related to procurement practices.
  • Develop and implement a markup policy for vendor-managed items in line with pricing strategy.
  • Maintain and update a discount tracker to ensure visibility, transparency, and realization of negotiated benefits.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Healthcare Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in supply chain or procurement management, preferably in a healthcare/hospital setting.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations, compliance, and SOP implementation.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare procurement dynamics, regulatory requirements, and inventory management models.
