We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Linux Server Expert. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Linux-based environments, including server lifecycle operations, hypervisor platforms, automation tools, and basic cloud integration. They will have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced infrastructure support environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Daily Compute Operations: Perform incident management, service requests, change requests, and root cause analysis, aligned with ITIL processes.
  • Server Lifecycle Management: Manage the full server lifecycle: installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and decommissioning (physical and virtual servers).
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct performance testing, system tuning, and troubleshooting for server-related issues, especially during outages or degradation.
  • Storage Administration: Administer storage operations using NetApp NFS.
  • OS Image Maintenance: Handle OS image maintenance, patch management (e.g., via BladeLogic Automation), and repository/package management.
  • Server Monitoring: Configure and roll out server monitoring and alerts.
  • Documentation: Document infrastructure services, solutions, and procedures; perform quality assurance and knowledge transfer to Level 2 support teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Linux Operating System: Strong experience with Linux OS operations and server administration (physical and virtual).
  • Hypervisor Technologies: Proficient in hypervisor technologies, especially XEN and VMware.
  • System Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables.
  • Server Monitoring Tools: Experience with server monitoring tools, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
  • Cloud Platforms: Exposure to cloud platforms (associate-level understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Chef) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Perl).
  • Basic GitHub and Jira: Basic experience with GitHub and Jira.
