Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Cloud Specialist to lead our cloud infrastructure deployment and management. As a key team member, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and support activities related to cluster deployment, application deployment, troubleshooting issues related to Kubernetes and Linux.

This may involve planning, designing, installing clusters, validating fixes related to Kubernetes and Linux, and performing Kubernetes and Linux certification for any new release of OS and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Administration: Strong knowledge of Linux OS (CentOS, Red Hat, RockyLinux), shell scripting (bash, Python, etc.), system administration tasks: user management, permissions, disk management
  • Networking and Security: Networking basics and troubleshooting (iptables, netstat, ssh), service management (systemd, init.d), package management (yum, apt), security (SELinux, firewalls)
  • Automation and Cloud Technologies: Automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), cloud and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), basic programming (Python, Perl) helpful
  • Kubernetes Administration: Deploy and manage virtual machines, understanding of KVMs, design and implementing solutions to leverage a Kubernetes cluster

Minimum Requirements:

  • Operating System Knowledge: Should have knowledge on operating system (Linux) configuration, package management, startup and troubleshooting
  • Infrastructure Automation and Container Orchestration: Exposure on infrastructure automation and container orchestration tools – Docker (MUST), Kubernetes (MUST), Terraform, Helm, etc.
  • Computer Architecture and Programming Practices: Good understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, operating system, and programming practices and principles
  • Service Mesh and IDM: Exposure in service mesh e.g. Istio, experience in IDM, LDAP

Qualification Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT Engineering or any equivalent degree
  • Experience: +5 years of professional experience in lab/datacenter cloud operation activities
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate written and verbally in English; German is a plus
