Job Profile:

The key role of the Principal Officer involves overseeing and ensuring compliance with all activities of the Corporate Agent/Insurance Broker. Strong regulatory knowledge, operational oversight, and effective grievance redressal are required in line with IRDAI guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor the activities of the Corporate Agent to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Agency regulations to maintain a high standard of integrity.
  • Submit timely material disclosures, regulatory returns, and other information to the Authority as per the established schedule.
  • Oversee insurance solicitation activities and verify that all compliance requirements from specified persons (SPs) are met to prevent any potential risks.
  • Monitor the compliance of SPs and ensure that solicitation is carried out only by authorized personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in any stream or MBA/professional qualifications are preferred for this position.
  • 50 hours of training plus passing the prescribed IRDAI exam for non-professionals is a mandatory requirement.
  • 25 hours of training plus an exam for recognized professionals is also a necessary step.

Additional regulatory requirements include minimum capital, deposits, professional indemnity insurance, infrastructure, staffing, and fit & proper declaration to ensure the organization meets the necessary standards.

  • Strong knowledge of IRDAI regulations and insurance compliance framework is essential for success in this role.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills are necessary for effective management and team coordination.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities are crucial for maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Customer grievance handling and resolution are critical components of this position.
