This is a senior-level position in property accounting that involves overseeing financial management of commercial properties. The role entails ensuring accurate accounting operations, reviewing and approving financial reports, and providing comprehensive support to MRI users.
The ideal candidate should have 5-8 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting and proficiency in fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaboration with Property Teams: Collaborate with 3rd party property teams to ensure accurate accounting operations using MRI software.
- Financial Report Review: Review and approve financial reports, including rent rolls, lease maintenance, cash management, and tax basis amortization.
- Support for MRI Users: Provide comprehensive support to 3rd party MRI users, loan compliance, mortgage payments, and lender reporting.
- Joint Venture Accounting: Review and comply with operating agreements, prepare consolidated financial reports, and manage cash flows.
- Acquisitions: Collaborate with Acquisitions team to review diligence materials, settlement statements, and estoppels.
- Dispositions: Work with Disposition team to respond to Buyer diligence requests, prepare prorations, and record closing entries.
- Accounting Experience: 5-8 years of property accounting experience in commercial real estate.
- Proficiency in Financial Reporting: Proficiency in fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS.
- Experience in Waterfall Calculations: Experience with TRS (Taxable REIT Subsidiaries) and tenant recoveries (CAM).
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of waterfall calculations and year-end audit procedures.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
