IT Asset Management Specialist

Job Summary:

  • Accurately maintain and update the inventory of all hardware assets, including computers, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals. Details such as make, model, serial number, specifications, and location should be captured.
  • Asset allocation and dispatch requests are followed up and processed through mail correspondence.
  • Confirmation mails from respective individuals for proof along with signed asset release forms are received.
  • The organization's asset management needs are met using SolarWinds Asset Management tools.
  • Continuous optimization of SolarWinds tool usage enhances asset management processes.
  • Reports are generated and analyzed using SolarWinds tools to provide insights into asset utilization and performance.
  • Old assets are retrieved from users when they are replaced with new assets.
  • Intergenerational data and summary of assets, along with Excel-related activities, are performed at the request of reporting managers.
  • User training is provided on proper handling and care of hardware assets. Support is also offered for hardware-related issues, including troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Proficiency in using SolarWinds Asset Management tools, including setup, configuration, and maintenance, is required.
  • Exit clearance procedures are closed for all applicable users.
  • Collaboration with procurement teams occurs to acquire new hardware assets. Verification of purchased hardware alignment with organizational requirements and standards is ensured.
  • Collaboration with Operation and finance teams happens to develop and manage budgets for hardware acquisition and maintenance. Opportunities for cost optimization, such as hardware consolidation or lease agreements, are identified.
  • Regular audits are conducted to verify the accuracy of the asset inventory.
  • Hardware assets that have reached their end-of-life or are no longer in use are identified. A secure and environmentally responsible disposal or recycling process is developed and executed.
  • Detailed asset performance reports are prepared and presented to senior management and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement is demonstrated through regular review and optimization of asset management processes.
  • Ability to prepare for and manage internal and external audits related to IT assets is necessary.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field:

  • Strong foundation in computer science principles and concepts.

Experience in IT Asset Management System:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using SolarWinds Asset Management tools, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Strong Excel skills and basic Business Intelligence (BI) knowledge.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including IT teams, finance, procurement, and senior management.
