Senior Lawyer Support Specialist

As a Legal Associate, you will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance to clients. Your primary role will be to draft and review legal documents, provide legal opinions, and represent clients in dispute resolution and negotiations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities through effective networking.
You will work closely with senior lawyers to develop and implement strategies to avoid and manage disputes, as well as negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of our clients.
Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents, providing legal advisory services, client acquisition and retention, dispute management, negotiations and client counselling, and data collection and analysis.
- Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Prepare and review well-drafted documents such as contracts, pleadings, and legal opinions.
- Legal Advisory: Provide consistent and technically superior legal advice and solutions to clients.
- Client Acquisition: Identify and acquire new clients through business development and retention efforts.
- Dispute Management: Develop and implement strategies to avoid and manage disputes.
- Negotiations and Client Counselling: Represent clients in negotiations and provide expert client counselling.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze legal data to identify trends and insights.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in Law (LLB, LLM, BA.LLB, BBA.LLB, BCom.LLB, CS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role requires a unique combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. You should have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Technical skills required include proficiency in MS Office, with experience in legal software an added advantage. Business acumen is essential, with a proven track record of identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
Interpersonal skills are also critical, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to navigate complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
