Job Title: Power Systems Engineering Lead

  • Leads a team of electrical protection & control engineers.
  • Delivers multiple complex projects and manages client relationships.
  • Estimates, schedules, and plans project deliverables.
  • Collaborates with other design disciplines for capturing all the design interfaces.
  • Guides the team on engineering activities for various energy transition projects.
  • Identifies and creates opportunities to implement new approaches for achieving time and cost savings.
  • Understands and prepares design basis reports and design calculations.
  • Understands project specifications and client requirements.
  • Conducts QA/QC for in-house designs and those by external contractors.
  • Advises on design and design change issues.
  • Undertakes site visits or non-intrusive surveys as required for design activities or site support.
  • Risk identification assessment and management.
  • Liaisons with global teams to understand and produce effective design solutions.
  • Remains conversant with industry standards and latest technologies available.
  • Enhances team capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BE/B-Tech Electrical/Electronics/Power Engineering, or ME/M-Tech Electrical/Electronics/Power Engineering.
  • At least 12 years' experience in designing and executing power system automation projects.
  • Proficient in key documentation like GA, Scheme, Wiring Diagram, SLD, Keyline Diagram, Trip Matrix, Bill of Quantity, Wiring Schedule, Cable Schedule, FDS, Signal List, Architecture Drawing, CT/VT Dimensioning, Battery Sizing, CT Saturation Calculations, Protection System Coordination, Heat Load Calculations, etc.
  • Expertise in Protection and Control Relay Settings Parameterization for Reputed Makers like SEL, GE, SIEMENS, etc.
  • Experience working with internal and external parties, including equipment suppliers, manufacturers, service providers, and professional bodies.
  • Understanding and developing elementary documents and drawings for busbars, feeders, transformers, reactors, OHL, FACTS, HVDC protection, and SCADA for AIS and GIS.
  • IEC61850 communication protocol-based automation projects.
  • Computer-based engineering tools like ASPEN One-liner, PS CAD, and ETAP, etc.
  • Effective communication and advice on complex technical issues and associated commercial aspects to peers and senior management.
  • Construction and Design Management (CDM).
  • Professional registration with any leading engineering body is preferred.
