The position of Deputy General Manager Human Resources is a pivotal role in spearheading the HR function for Quality & Operations functions at an Indore Manufacturing site. This leadership position provides strategic HR Business partnership to the Site Leadership team, driving employee relations and human resource programs that align with business objectives.

Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resource programs and practices. As a Strategic HR Partner, the incumbent will partner with business leaders to understand their needs and align people strategy accordingly.

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding are crucial aspects of this role, requiring the identification of talented workforce within tight timelines to ensure business continuity. Manpower planning and budgeting involve assisting in the budgeting process of all HR items, including manpower costs and operational expenses, while ensuring optimum utilization of budgets and trend analysis.

Performance Management involves driving continual performance management and Annual Compensation Review for the site. The role also includes training line managers on goal setting and sharing performance feedback, enabling business leaders to make informed decisions regarding promotions and compensation revisions.

Talent Management involves implementing Periodic Talent Management reviews and ensuring development or retention plans are executed. Succession planning for critical roles and understanding talent priorities of the site are also key components of this role.

Learning & Development entails promoting a culture of learning and high performance. Identifying training needs, preparing training calendars, and evaluating training efficacy are essential tasks. Working with the corporate HR team to implement various training programs for the site is also part of this responsibility.

Ensuring HR legal compliances by monitoring and implementing applicable statutory laws, maintaining records, and representing the organization at various associations related to Human Resources is a critical aspect of this role. Liaisoning with statutory bodies and government agencies like Labour offices, Factory Inspector Offices, and welfare Fund Offices is necessary to maintain compliance.

Maintaining harmonious and productive IR environments, tracking productivity, identifying cost savings opportunities, and ensuring statutory compliances are followed by manpower vendors are essential duties. A healthy and productive work environment is fostered through the timely resolution of employee grievances and appropriate disciplinary actions as needed.

Implementing initiatives to impact key drivers of employee engagement and leading wellbeing initiatives at the site to achieve holistic wellbeing of employees is a priority. Supervising and reviewing all HR operations pertaining to employee life cycle, streamlining processes, and bringing in efficiency is another key responsibility.

A strong background in HR Operations, Industrial Relations, and labour legislations is essential. Excellent management skills with ability to influence management, analytical ability, and interpersonal skills are highly valued. A Master's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is preferred, along with 15+ years' experience handling HR functions, preferably in a manufacturing setup.
