Job Title: Resident Manager

The Role:

Responsible for the overall management, discipline, safety, and welfare of students residing in the hostel. Maintains a healthy, secure, and student-friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hostel Administration:

  • Oversees day-to-day hostel operations, including accommodation, maintenance, housekeeping, and catering.
  • Allots hostel rooms and maintains updated records of hostel occupancy.
  • Monitors hostel infrastructure and reports maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensures hygienic conditions and proper functioning of hostel facilities.

2. Student Welfare & Discipline:

  • Maintains discipline, order, and decorum among hostel residents.
  • Addresses grievances and counseling needs of students.
  • Ensures safety, security, and well-being of students in the hostel premises.
  • Enforces hostel rules, regulations, and code of conduct.

3. Coordination & Supervision:

  • Supervises support staff including ward boys, housekeeping, and security personnel.
  • Coordinates with mess staff for quality food service and timely meals.
  • Liaises with university administration on hostel-related matters.
  • Organizes hostel activities, orientation, and community-building events.

4. Safety & Security:

  • Ensures proper security arrangements in the hostel premises.
  • Maintains records of visitors and restricts unauthorized entry.
  • Takes prompt action during emergencies (medical, safety, or disciplinary).
  • Ensures compliance with fire safety and health regulations.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Management, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Hostel Warden / Administrator, preferably in an educational institution.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to handle emergencies with calmness and responsibility.
