Job Title: Strategic Policy Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced policy lead to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing mining policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with local, national, and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Government Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant mining laws, environmental regulations, safety standards, and community engagement requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure responsible mining practices and foster positive relationships.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mining, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in policy development, government relations, or regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
