Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GIS Support Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the usability of GIS mapping applications. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, configuring GIS tools, and supporting users in effectively applying geospatial solutions to business operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial analysis, and mapping concepts. They will also possess proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar) and familiarity with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support through multiple channels, troubleshooting and resolving software, data, and functionality issues, conducting training sessions, creating user guides, FAQs, and documentation, assisting in geospatial data acquisition, processing, and integration, configuring and customizing GIS applications, scripts, and workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address user needs and deliver solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support for GIS applications or related software.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
