Product Development Manager Role

Purpose:

As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of new products and optimizing existing formulations to meet market requirements.

The product lines include Solid and Liquid Dosage forms (Tablets, Capsules, Solutions, Suspensions, Pellets, MUPS etc.) for regulated markets like US, Europe, and ROW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope, activities, and timelines, ensuring periodic monitoring and timely completion.
  • Lead the execution/development of new formulations by investigating API characteristics and viability, safety, and compatibility with other ingredients.
  • Identify resource requirements for projects and assimilate literature information collected by project teams.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs using QBD principles for all new product development projects and processes.
  • Evaluate data to provide relevant interpretation, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations for further advancement in product development.
  • Plan and coordinate execution of lab scale up/optimization and pilot BE batches while adhering to lab GMP system and practices.
  • Review lab experiment notebooks and prepare technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise with technology transfer team/production team to ensure seamless technology transfer.
  • Optimize existing product performance by investigating API characteristics and finished products.
  • Check stability protocols, monitor stability studies, and evaluate results to advance product development activity.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare new departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents as required.
  • Monitor IQ, OQ, and PQ activities of new machines and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel on equipment, instruments, and systems.
  • Ensure proper storage and destruction of raw materials and finished goods and maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:

  • Master in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience of Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred to have Pellets project experience
