Job Title: SQL Database Architect

We are seeking an experienced SQL database architect to join our team. As a senior member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of high-performance, scalable, and secure SQL Server databases.

  • Design, implement, and manage SQL Server databases, including schema development, performance tuning, and backup/restore procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions meet business requirements and are aligned with overall IT strategy.
  • Maintain and improve existing database systems, ensuring they remain current, efficient, and in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including database designs, implementation plans, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design: Create logical and physical database designs, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Database Development: Implement database schema changes, using T-SQL scripting and SQL Server tools.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze database performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, and database design principles.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of database security, access control, and auditing best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including source control, continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
