
Senior Director of Intermodal Strategy

Elevate the intermodal product by developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to drive growth.
- Lead existing portfolio of intermodal business while expanding domestic rail operations.
- Optimize corridor and portfolio level financial and operating performance, focusing on cost/utilization.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to maximize asset efficiency.
- Make strategic investment decisions and monitor their impact.
- Negotiate and optimize network relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and execute intermodal transformation strategy in the region, aligning with the changing logistics landscape in India.
- Broaden the domestic rail portfolio, leveraging existing intermodal capabilities.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with rail operators, including private rail companies.
- Rapidly expand business footprint while ensuring consistent profitability.
- Align area business plans with global and regional objectives.
- Design customer-oriented solutions and clear value propositions for targeted segments.
- Maintain Health, Safety, Security, and Environment standards.
- Establish standard operating procedures and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen.
- Promote structured procurement partnerships and technology adoption.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee one of the largest portfolios in the region.
- Develop talent pipelines for the product and operational leadership.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, such as customs authorities.
- Foster a collaborative vendor ecosystem.
- Intermodal product revenue growth and overall profitability across different value pools/corridors.
- Operational optimization – cost, productivity & utilization.
- Vendor audit and performance management.
- Effective DSO and DPO management for key clients/vendors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in logistics, with 10+ years leading P&L and managing large teams.
- Strong background in rail product development and operations.
- Solution-oriented mindset with analytical skills to innovate and solve complex problems.
- Experience in container logistics and land-side transportation.
- Strategic thinking, change management, project management, and analytical skills.
- Cost and productivity optimization through process improvement.
- Executive presence, ability to drive team engagement.
- Postgraduate studies in general management or supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good networks and connections in the logistics industry (desired).
