Network Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily network operations and respond to tickets efficiently.
  • Address issues like network downtime, slow connectivity, and BGP flapping.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and access points.
  • Collaborate with support teams to verify power supply and physical connections.
  • Engage with ISPs and onsite engineers to resolve internet or link down issues.
  • Maintain stable and reliable network services.
  • Monitor daily network performance.
  • Troubleshoot network faults and hardware issues.
  • Generate and respond to trouble tickets; interface with carriers for escalations (internal and external).
  • Install network hardware and software.
  • Complete Service-Now tickets within SLA. Perform network configuration changes in accordance with change management processes.
  • Respond to alerts by following documented procedures for verification, case determination, and resolution or escalation as necessary.
  • Create and maintain network documentation regarding configuration, diagrams, and processes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network traffic flow, packet analysis/capture, and monitoring.
  • Ability to work independently/under minimal supervision and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • DDI (DNS) products like Infoblox, QIP, or Linux-based BIND DNS servers.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the Network space across a diverse Enterprise.
  • Understanding of Network operating system (Cisco IOS).
  • Proven experience in network troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service; MPLS; STP, RSTP, .1q VLANs, VPC, HSRP, VRRP, STP, VLAN etc), Wireless (Cisco and Juniper) and DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM).
  • Ability to take ownership of daily network operations and respond to tickets efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with users and cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIS-SP in networking or related fields are a plus.
