Key Responsibilities (Job Description):
Your key responsibilities are,
Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement the organization's local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network segments according to business requirements and best practices.
Network Device Configuration: Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points, to support efficient data transmission and secure network communication.
Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks or performance issues, and proactively optimize the network to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, and performance degradation, in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Network Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Network Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute network infrastructure upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Network Performance Analysis: Analyse network traffic patterns and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and capacity planning.
Network Policy and Compliance: Ensure that the organization's network infrastructure adheres to security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Vendor Management: Interact with network equipment vendors and service providers to procure network hardware, software, and services as needed.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT, security, and application development, to support their network-related needs and projects.
Background:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A relevant certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA, CCNP, CCINP) or equivalent, is a plus.
- Associate degree or Diploma in Network Administration or related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- 2 to 5 Years of Network Engineer work experience or as per requirement
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and architectures (TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc.).
- Experience in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud networking concepts (e.g., VMware NSX, AWS VPC, Azure Networking) is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and perform automation in future.
- Functional
- Should have Handson experience in Tools like, Wireshark, Nagios, tool used for Tracing, monitoring and analysis's purpose, JIRA, Service Now or any other customer tools.
- Behavioural/Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with users and convey technical information clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
