System Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to fill a challenging role as a System Operations Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing production systems, ensuring smooth operations, and prompt response to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the management of production systems during night shifts, guaranteeing seamless operations and timely responses to issues.
  2. Execute End-of-Day (EOD) and Beginning-of-Day (BOD) job processes, ensuring accurate completion within specified timelines.
  3. Coordinate Data Center (DC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) failover activities, ensuring optimal system availability and reliability.
  4. Patch systems regularly to ensure they remain up-to-date with the latest security and functionality updates.
  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address and resolve production issues efficiently.
  6. Prepare comprehensive weekly status reports detailing performance, incidents, and improvements made during the reporting period.
  7. Manage and administer Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
  8. Evaluate and optimize system performance on an ongoing basis.
  9. The ideal candidate must be willing to work variable night shifts and 6 days a week onsite.

Requirements:

  • Experience in EOD/BOD job handling and DC/DR failover activities.
  • System patching expertise and coordination with different teams.
  • Hands-on experience in managing Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with database systems (DB2).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during night shifts.
  • Dedication to duties and responsibilities, with a willingness to take initiatives.
