Procurement Manager

Job Description:

The Procurement Manager is a crucial role in the organization, responsible for leading and guiding the Sourcing & Supplier Development team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tool room or machine-building industry with 18-25 years of core supply chain management experience, including 10+ years heading complete Sourcing & Supplier Development function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing short-term and long-term cost-effective sourcing and supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Identifying and developing new suppliers for precision-machined components, evaluating supplier capabilities, quality systems, and production capacity.
  • Conducting cost analysis, benchmarking, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing, process improvements, and vendor consolidation.
  • Handling procurement of engineering components, engineering controls, and electrical drives for large-size machines.
  • Managing procurement of imported and locally bought-out parts such as hydraulics, mechanical, electronics, and electrical.
  • Overseeing supplier development, vendor negotiations, and warranty claims management with back-to-back warranty arrangements.
  • Ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials and services at optimum cost, quality, and timelines for machine and mold production.
  • Providing expertise and advisory support for vendor development for new and existing projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong buyer-seller and stakeholder relationships.
  • Reviewing departmental SOPs, systems, and procedures regularly, identifying bottlenecks and suggesting process improvements to meet customer requirements consistently.
Requirements:
  • Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Age: 42-45 years.
  • Preferred: Experience in capital equipment or project-based procurement, including Mother Machines selection, negotiation, and purchase.
